Supporting Our Communities:
Charitable Work of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Aberdeenshire East
The Provincial Grand Lodge of Aberdeenshire East is proud to uphold Freemasonry’s long-standing tradition of charitable giving and community support. Through various fundraising initiatives and partnerships, the Province continues to make a meaningful impact across the North East of Scotland.
One notable effort took place in June 2023, when members embarked on a sponsored “Lodge to Lodge” walk, covering approximately 80 miles and visiting all 14 lodges within the Province. This initiative aimed to raise funds for local food banks, offering crucial support to individuals and families affected by the rising cost of living and energy prices. The walk was a resounding success, uniting Brethren and communities alike for a worthy cause.
In addition to local efforts, the Province has also played a role in national charitable campaigns. Most recently, it contributed to the Grand Lodge of Scotland’s incredible achievement of raising over £1.1 million in aid of Prostate Scotland, a charity dedicated to supporting men affected by prostate disease. This milestone was reached through a variety of events, including zip slides, sponsored challenges, and donations across Scotland.
These initiatives reflect the Provincial Grand Lodge of Aberdeenshire East’s enduring commitment to compassion, community, and service—core values at the heart of Freemasonry.
