Tonight saw the dedication of the trees planted within the memorial arboretum in Aden Country Park at Mintlaw in memory of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11.

A short but very meaningful ceremony took place in the presence of a large number of Brethren and wives along with special guest, Lady Saltoun Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire who also has many family Masonic connections.

Immediate Past Provincial Grand Master Bro. Dr. Douglas Nicol spoke briefly on the background to the project with Provincial Grand Treasurer, Bro. Davy Hutcheon explaining the processes of getting to the stage when the trees were actually planted.

A short address and Bible reading was given by Provincial Grand Chaplain, Bro. Michael Glennie and a short address by Lady Saltoun followed with stirring bagpipe music played by Provincial Grand Piper Bro. Sean McLean. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

May I take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended and supported this very important event. Your presence was very much appreciated.
