Daughter Lodges

Our Strategic Vision
The Provincial Grand Lodge of Aberdeenshire East’s strategic vision is to strengthen its reputation as a positive force within the community by promoting inclusivity, making a meaningful impact, and ensuring continued growth. While preserving our Masonic traditions, we remain committed to charitable initiatives and active member engagement, ensuring our relevance in an ever-changing world.
This vision will be realised through the collective efforts of our 15 daughter Lodges (listed above), each playing a crucial role in fostering fellowship, supporting charitable work, and engaging with the wider community. The Provincial Grand Lodge serves as a guiding body, providing motivation, resources, and strategic direction to empower each Lodge in fulfilling their responsibilities. By working in unison, we will continue to uphold our values, expand our outreach, and maintain a thriving Masonic presence across Aberdeenshire East.
Through these coordinated efforts, we will achieve our goals of strengthening community ties, enhancing public perception of Freemasonry, supporting local and national charitable causes, and ensuring that our Lodges remain welcoming and dynamic spaces for personal development and brotherhood.
Caring and Sharing Programme
Discover how the Provincial Grand Lodge of Aberdeenshire East is strengthening Masonic bonds through its Caring and Sharing Programme – a quiet yet powerful initiative that exemplifies true brotherhood in action.
By pairing lodges with many candidates with those in need of one, this innovative system allows more lodges to perform live degree ceremonies, maintaining ritual excellence and revitalising member engagement.
Not only does it help candidates progress through their Masonic journey more efficiently, but it also nurtures inter-lodge connections and shared experiences that last well beyond the ceremony. With growing participation and proven success, the programme stands as a shining example of collaboration and mutual respect within the Craft.

The Travelling Trowel:
A Challenge of Fellowship and Charity!
The Travelling Trowel is more than just a symbol – it’s a tradition of friendly rivalry, Masonic fellowship, and charitable giving. Moving between the daughter lodges of The Provincial Grand Lodge of Aberdeenshire East, it inspires inter-Lodge visitations while raising substantial funds for worthy causes.
The challenge is clear: Which Lodge will rise to the occasion and claim the Trowel next? The Lodge with the most captures will earn the honour of directing the funds raised to charities of their choice.
The Trowel is always on the move, waiting to be seized by the next Lodge willing to embrace the spirit of competition and camaraderie. If left unclaimed for too long, the Provincial Grand Lodge may relocate it – so don’t miss your chance!
Brethren, the time is now! Capture the Trowel, strengthen the bonds of fraternity, and make a lasting impact in your community. Will your Lodge be the one to triumph?

Scottish Lodge Finder
We would like to thank the United Lodge of Dunkeld No.14 for developing and sharing this helpful tool with the Masonic community.
The Lodge Finder tool aims to encourage Freemasons to visit lodges within and beyond their own province, fostering connections and enriching the Masonic experience. Visiting is one of the most rewarding aspects of the craft, strengthening bonds among brethren and lodges alike. the United Lodge of Dunkel have compiled a list of all Scottish lodges and aim to expand it to the UK and beyond. Each listing provides location details and meeting times.
Freemasonry and Social Media:
In today’s digital world, social media has become a valuable tool for Freemasonry, offering lodges new ways to connect with members and engage with the broader community. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter allow for the easy sharing of event details, photos, and updates, helping to promote Masonic activities and foster public understanding. Social media also provides a space to highlight charitable work and educational content, making the Craft more accessible and visible. However, the open nature of these platforms comes with risks, such as unmoderated content, misuse of information, and the potential for negative or abusive comments. To use social media effectively and responsibly, lodges are encouraged to adopt clear policies, appoint social media officers, and monitor online activity carefully. With the right approach, social media can be a powerful asset in promoting Freemasonry’s values and building stronger connections both within the fraternity and with the wider world. [Learn more →]
